Dr. Ahmad Ahmadi, the President of SAMT, passed away.

  Dr. Ahmad Ahmadi, a member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and the President of the Organization for Researching and Composing University Textbooks in the Humanities (SAMT), died due to a heart attack at the Imam Khomeini Hospital in Tehran on Friday, June 8.

Dr.Ahmad Ahmadi was born in 1933 in Malayer. He went to the Borujerd Seminary after taking basic lessons and completed religious lessons up to the level 2 within 5 years. Then he went to the Seminary of Qom and taught Islamic teachings of Islamic interpretation and philosophy at the highest levels. He was the student of some prominent professors such as Allamah Tabataba"i, Imam Khomeini (RA), Seyyed Hossein Tabatabaee Boroujerdi, Ayatollah Ezam Soltani, Meshkini, Mohaghegh Damad and  Najafi Marash. At the same time he did Ph.D. in Western Philosophy in Tehran University. Ahmadi has been a Faculty Member of Tehran University since 1973 and has taught Islamic Philosophy and Western Philosophy as well as Comparative Philosophy at Ph.D level.

He has been a member of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution since 1981. Meanwhile, He was the founder of the Organization for Researching and Composing University Textbooks in the Humanities (SAMT) and one of the founders of the Tarbiat Modarres University as well as the Representative of Tehran at the 7th round of the Islamic Parliament of Iran. Mokhtarat men Nasoos al-Falsafeh Al-Islamieh, Reviewing Western Philosophical Thought (translation), Studying Uppermost Philosophy (translation) and The Establishment of Metaphysics Ethics (translation).

SAMT Organization expresses its deepest condolences to this prominent philosopher’s respectable family, all university philosophers, scholars and students, his friends and enthusiasts.
